Hi, there! My name is Whizzy, and I'm the Whizard of Whizpig Land. Welcome to my website! I'm so happy you are here because I have so much to tell you!
The name of my book is The Whizpigs and Their Wild Adventures. I named it that because that's all I could think of, but it's a pretty good title anyway. The book is a collection of bedtime stories about, you guessed it, the Whizpigs! Among these pages you will meet Durango the Fire-Breathing Dragon, Gloria the Go-Go-Glo-Worm, Grumbly the Giant Wolfhound, Gussy the Grinning Grasshopper, King Tutankhamen Turtle, Slurpy the Crooked Crocodile, and best of all, me! You'll take a ride down Penny Lane in the Whizmobile, a funny looking contraption resembling a vacuum cleaner on wheels, and you'll marvel at how Mo and Blo, the giant spotted Andean spiders, spin the most beautiful webs. As you read these stories, be prepared to participate in the Whizpig olympics, celebrate marshmallow day, munch on a Whiz-Cheez sandwich, and traverse the Ancient Land of Pig-Eating Dinosaurs, where the dinosaurs are not so bad after all. You will enjoy (I hope!) a poem by Edgar-Allen P. Whizpig and learn about the Whizpig dictionary from Wordsworth P. Whizpig.
Mr friend, Richard Crume, helped bring these pages to life by recalling the bedtime stories his father used to tell his children when they were young, back in the 1950s and 60s. Gosh, that seems like a long time ago -- it was last century, when I was only 523 years old! Richard and I hope the book brings joy and inspiration to children through the art of storytelling. Let's get away from the cell phone and TV for a while and talk with each other -- if we can even remember how!
And oh, where can you buy the book? Amazon, of course.
Now, here are some Qs and As:
Why should I buy the book?
It's cheap!
What's the book about?
The Whizpigs, duh!
Who cares!
Well, that's a very good question, so let me explain. You see, the Whizpigs are very special creatures. They spend most of their waking hours (and sleeping hours too) sitting around a campfire eating marshmallows and snails. They live together in harmony, hardly ever fighting or disagreeing about anything, and they enjoy the simple things in life, like rolling in the mud. (Try it sometime!) Above all else, they believe in love, peace, and happiness, and that's what the world needs lots of right now. Perhaps, if you are sad, these stories will bring you happiness, or if you are mad, they will bring you peace. Or if there is a hole in your heart, a little love will enter. OK, I know that all sounds a little corny, and it's a lot to expect for just a silly book. Maybe the best we can hope for is a little enjoyment and humor, but that's a good thing too! So, just buy the book and laugh, darn't it!
I know what a Whizpig is, but what's a Whizpog?
I dunno.
What did the mommy pig say to her piglets at the end of the day?
Time to pig up your toys! Ha, ha, ha!
